A Distance-Regular Graph with Intersection Array (5, 4, 3, 3; 1, 1, 1, 2) Does Not Exist

We prove that a distance-regular graph with intersection array (5, 4, 3, 3; 1, 1, 1, 2) does not exist. The proof is purely combinatorial and computer-free.

The Nonexistence of a Distance-Regular Graph with Intersection Array {22, 16, 5;1, 2, 20}

We prove that a distance-regular graph with intersection array {22, 16, 5; 1, 2, 20} does not exist. To prove this, we assume that such a graph exists and derive some combinatorial properties of its local graph. Then we construct a partial linear space from the local graph to display the contradiction.

We measure the period and spin-down rate for SGR 1900+14 during the quiescient period two years before the recent interval of renewed burst activity. We find that the spin-down rate doubled during the burst activity which is inconsistent with both mangetic dipole driven spin down and a magnetic field energy source for the bursts. We also show that SGRs 1900+14 and 1806-20 have braking indices o...

We study, using ADHM construction, instanton effects in an N = 2 superconformal Sp(N) gauge theory, arising as effective field theory on a system of N D-3-branes near an orientifold 7-plane and 8 D-7-branes in type I’ string theory. We work out the measure for the collective coordinates of multi-instantons in the gauge theory and compare with the measure for the collective coordinates of (−1)-b...

A general dynamical system composed by two coupled sectors is considered. The initial time configuration of one of these sectors is described by a set of classical data while the other is described by standard quantum data. This paper concerns the problem of obtaining the dynamical evolution of such a system. Our starting point will be the standard quantum formulation of the dynamical system. W...
